Important NewsOpportunity to VolunteerThe University welcomes retirees to volunteer to participate in a Fall, 2011 Convocation as a procession member, usher, or doing other duties such as handing out name cards. The Convocations occur on Saturday, October 15, 2011; to see the schedule for the times for the various Colleges or Graduate Studies please go to http://www.uoguelph.ca/convocation/timing. In order to volunteer you need to fill out a form, which can be found at https://surveys.ccs.uoguelph.ca/limeSurvey/index.php?sid=99414&lang=en. It's called a survey, but in actuality it is a form for volunteering to take part in a Convocation Ceremony. By filling it out, you are registering to help at a Convocation of your choice in one of the capacities. The various questions seem straight forward; asking who you are, what your relationship to the university is (retiree), what role do you want to volunteer for (if you indicate you wish to be in the procession you will be asked if you need to be provided with a gown), and which ceremony you would like to volunteer for. If you have any difficulties in volunteering, please contact Claire Alexander at 824-4120 X53098. Consent to Use Personal InformationIn order to better communicate with retirees, the University of Guelph Retirees Association has requested contact information for retired staff and faculty of the University. A letter has been sent with the current newsletter containing a consent form that can be mailed to the Human Resources department at the university. The Retirees Association asks that you please consent to allow the university to pass on your address to us. Please be aware that:
